Blue Tree Outdoor Living rebuilt this Telford patio and landscape around features the homeowners wanted to keep. The pergola and gazebo stayed. The fountain remained as well. The work addressed the grade beneath the patio and replaced the hardscape. A new planting plan added privacy and seasonal interest. Lighting and drip irrigation completed the plan without displacing those familiar elements.
Challenge
The existing patio and the grade below it required correction. Water needed a defined path away from the house, and the hardscape needed a new base and surface. At the same time, the homeowners did not want a blank-slate redesign. The pergola and gazebo set fixed points for the new layout. The fountain had to remain as well.
The landscape presented a second design problem. Street traffic left parts of the yard exposed, yet heavy screening could have made the space feel closed. Blue Tree needed to add privacy while keeping the existing gathering areas connected and visible.
Design Response
The plan began with preservation. Blue Tree kept the three existing structures in place and designed the new patio around their positions. That decision protected familiar features while giving the rest of the yard a new circulation pattern and material palette.
The
planting design used layers rather than a solid visual barrier. New plants along the property line added buffering from the street. The broader planting plan distributed bloom periods across the seasons, so one short flowering window did not carry the whole landscape. Low-voltage lighting marked the patio and planting areas after sunset. Drip irrigation delivered water to the new beds.
Build Details
Blue Tree removed the original patio and corrected the underlying grade. The
hardscape rebuild followed. Techo-Bloc Blu 60 slate pavers form the main patio surface. A Mini-Creta wall defines changes in level and edges within the space. Architectural caps finish the wall, while a Villagio border gives the field pavers a clear perimeter.
The grade work came before the new surface. That order allowed the build team to shape the patio base and direct runoff away from the house before placing the pavers. The preserved pergola and gazebo remained reference points throughout construction. The fountain did too.
The landscape installation followed the hardscape work. Crews placed the privacy plantings along the property line, then installed the wider seasonal planting plan. Lighting fixtures sit within the finished landscape rather than as a separate layer added after the fact. The drip irrigation system serves the new planting beds.
Finished Space
The
completed Telford yard keeps the parts the homeowners valued and replaces the systems around them. The pergola and gazebo now sit within one Techo-Bloc patio composition. The fountain joins them there. Mini-Creta walls and the Villagio border establish clean transitions without competing with the existing structures.
The new landscape softens those hardscape lines and adds privacy where the property meets the street. Plant placement leaves views open between the main gathering areas. Blue Tree Outdoor Living treated grading, hardscape, planting, lighting, and irrigation as connected parts of the same renovation.
The new paver field reaches the preserved structures instead of leaving each one on a separate hardscape island. Capped walls and the border repeat the same finish across the patio edges. The fountain remains a focal point within the rebuilt layout.
