Common Questions

The FAQ library answers general questions about Blue Tree's services, process, pricing ranges, materials, timing, and regional specifics for Southeastern PA. Examples include pool permit timelines in specific townships, what paver brands Blue Tree installs, how frost depth affects hardscape base specs, and how long a landscape installation takes. Questions that require a consultation are those that depend on your specific site: exact project costs, whether your lot has a soil or drainage condition that affects scope, and which design options suit your property. The FAQ library is designed so a homeowner arrives at a consultation already informed on pricing ranges, material options, and process, reducing the time from first contact to signed proposal.

The FAQ library is organized into three service divisions matching Blue Tree's core areas: Pools, Landscapes, and Hardscapes. Within each division, questions are grouped by topic including cost, timeline, materials, local SE PA specifics, maintenance, and Blue Tree's credentials. Service hub pages for each service line also contain FAQ sections specific to that page's topic, so a homeowner researching pool installation in a particular township finds more granular answers on that page than in the general FAQ library. If you have a question spanning multiple divisions, such as a full outdoor transformation with pool, patio, and planting, start with the Pools FAQ section, which covers full-yard integration.

Blue Tree does not offer 24-hour emergency service across all divisions. For pool equipment failures during the off-season (November through April), shut off the pump breaker to prevent freeze damage, then call during business hours at (610) 222-0590. For structural concerns such as a pool shell crack, a retaining wall failure, or a major drainage event after a storm, note the urgency in your service request and a team member will prioritize the site visit. Landscape irrigation winterization emergencies in October, when a freeze is imminent and the system is still active, are the most common off-season request and can typically be accommodated within 24 to 48 hours during the fall close-out season.

Blue Tree's workmanship warranties, which run 2 years on most installations, are not voided by choosing not to enroll in a Blue Tree maintenance plan. The warranty covers Blue Tree's workmanship: how the hardscape base was installed, how the pool plumbing was run, how the irrigation zones were configured. What can affect warranty validity is failure to perform basic care required to prevent damage, such as failing to winterize a pool before the first freeze or allowing paver joint sand to wash out completely over multiple seasons without replenishment. The Care and Instructions section of this Service Hub documents the basic care expected. If a claim traces to neglected care rather than a workmanship defect, Blue Tree explains that distinction in writing before closing the claim.

The FAQ and Warranty pages serve different purposes and are designed to work together. The FAQ page answers how Blue Tree works, what to expect during a project, and regional specifics that help homeowners make informed decisions before and during a project. The Warranty page answers what happens after a project is complete: what is covered, for how long, and how to file a claim. If a homeowner asks whether a pool shell can crack in a frost event, that is a FAQ question. If a homeowner asks whether a cracked pool shell is covered, that is a warranty question answered on the Warranties page. Bookmark both pages after your project is complete; the FAQ library is updated seasonally with new SE PA-specific content.

Most FAQ answers apply across all seven counties Blue Tree serves: Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Berks, and Philadelphia Counties. However, permit processes, soil conditions, HOA requirements, and frost and drainage specifics do vary by township. Berks County townships operate under different permit review timelines than Montgomery County townships. Soil conditions in the Boyertown and Bally area of northern Berks (USDA Zone 6b) differ from the Cecil sandy loam uplands of southern Chester County. Where a FAQ answer has meaningful geographic variation, it notes the relevant county or township. Location-specific FAQ sections are also on the service and location hybrid pages on this site, such as Pools in Wayne and Hardscapes in Blue Bell, written specifically for that township's conditions.

Common Questions

Custom concrete inground pools from Blue Tree generally range from $75,000 to $200,000 or more for the pool alone. Complete backyard projects that add the patio, landscape, and lighting often run $150,000 to $400,000 or more. Pool size, finishes, water features, equipment, site conditions, and township requirements drive the number, and every project starts with a free consultation and an itemized proposal.

Permitting can run 8 to 16 weeks depending on the township, and active construction takes another 8 to 16 weeks once ground breaks. Weather, site conditions, and the scope of surrounding landscape and hardscape work all affect the schedule. Families who start the design process in fall or winter are positioned to swim the following summer.

Blue Tree builds both custom concrete (gunite and shotcrete) inground pools shaped on site and fiberglass inground pools, including geometric, freeform, lap, and plunge shapes, with integrated spas, benches, and water features. We have been building pools for 15 years using premium Jandy (Fluidra) equipment, and every shell carries a lifetime structural warranty.

Yes. Townships across our service area require building permits, and most require electrical permits as well. Many also enforce impervious surface limits that affect pool size and decking area. Blue Tree handles permitting in-house, from filing the applications to coordinating township inspections.

Yes. Our Premier Outdoor Services division offers pool opening and closing, weekly maintenance, and equipment service. Because our team built your pool, they know your specific equipment and maintain it to the same standard we built it.

Common Questions

Blue Tree provides full landscape design and installation, including planting design, native gardens, foundation plantings, drainage solutions, LED landscape lighting, fencing, and drip irrigation. Our degree-holding designers create custom plans with CAD software and 3D renderings.

Yes. Plant material carries a one-year, one-time replacement warranty from the date of installation, covering weather-related loss such as heat waves and harsh winters. It does not cover loss from homeowner over- or under-watering. We source about 90 percent of our plant material from local growers.

Our region spans USDA hardiness zones 6b and 7a with clay-heavy soils, so we design for four-season interest and long-term performance using plants proven in local conditions. Deer pressure, freeze-thaw cycles, and drainage all factor into the plant selection for your specific property.

Landscape projects vary widely based on scope, from a foundation planting refresh to a complete property transformation. Every project starts with a free on-site consultation and an itemized proposal, so you see exactly what you are getting before any work begins.

Your plan is created by one of our degree-holding landscape designers, who walks your property, listens to your goals, and develops the design using CAD software and 3D renderings. The same team that designs your landscape installs it.

Common Questions

Blue Tree designs and installs paver patios, outdoor kitchens, retaining walls, fire pits and fireplaces, walkways, and complete backyard oasis projects. Our hardscape division is led by an ICPI-certified installer, and all work complies with township building codes.

Hardscape workmanship carries a two-year warranty on patios, walkways, and all installations. If an issue arises, we write up a work order and schedule a repair, with no runaround.

A properly installed paver patio lasts for decades. The key is the base. Blue Tree excavates to the correct depth, compacts the proper aggregate, and accounts for drainage and freeze-thaw movement, which is what separates a patio that holds from one that shifts.

Yes, and it is how we prefer to work. Because Blue Tree designs and builds pools, hardscapes, and landscapes in-house, your patio, pool, lighting, and planting are designed and built as one integrated project rather than handed off to separate contractors.

Many townships require permits for hardscape work, especially retaining walls over a certain height and projects that affect impervious surface or stormwater. Blue Tree confirms and handles the specific requirements for your township during the site evaluation.

Common Questions

Healthy Yards is Blue Tree's turf care division, offering lawn fertilization programs, aeration and overseeding, weed control, and mosquito and tick treatments. Mark, our turf care manager with 20 years of experience, oversees every program personally.

There is no formal warranty on grass seed due to environmental variables, but Blue Tree follows up on seeding work as standard practice, because doing right by our customers matters more than fine print. Mosquito and tick treatments include re-treatment at no additional cost if results are unsatisfactory after an application.

Most lawns in our region benefit from a multi-step seasonal program timed to spring green-up, summer stress, and fall recovery. Clay-heavy soils and Zone 6b and 7a temperature swings shape the schedule, which is built into every Healthy Yards program.

Yes. Healthy Yards includes seasonal mosquito and tick treatments to make your outdoor space more comfortable and safer, with re-treatment at no additional cost if results are unsatisfactory after an application.

In Southeastern PA, early fall is the prime window for aeration and overseeding, when soil is still warm, nights are cooler, and weed pressure is lower. Our team times the work to your lawn's specific conditions.

Common Questions

Premier Outdoor Services is Blue Tree's maintenance division, keeping your entire outdoor investment performing year-round. Services include pool opening and closing, paver restoration, bed maintenance, seasonal clean-ups, pruning, mulching, and more, all managed through a single point of contact.

Packages are tailored to your property and can combine pool service, lawn and turf care, bed and planting maintenance, hardscape upkeep, and seasonal tasks. Because one team handles everything, nothing falls through the cracks between separate contractors.

Our service team knows your specific equipment and materials because they installed them, and they maintain everything to the same standard we built it. That continuity protects your investment and keeps your warranties in effect.

Yes. Our pool service team handles weekly water testing and chemical balancing, seasonal openings and closings, and equipment service, so you can enjoy your pool without managing the details.

Reach out through our online form or call (610) 222-0590, and we will build a maintenance plan around your property and the services you want covered.
