What Sets Blue Tree's Spa Integration Apart

A spa added as an afterthought looks like one. At Blue Tree, the spa and pool are formed as a single concrete structure, shot in gunite or shotcrete at the same time, finished in matching tile and plaster, and run on the same Jandy equipment.
  • The same designer who sketches your spillover wall stays with the project through final walkthrough
  • Permitting, excavation, grading, drainage, and restoration handled in-house
  • 15-year pool construction track record since 2011
  • Lifetime structural warranty on every pool shell

Our Spa Integration Process

From the first consultation through design, permitting, construction, and startup, one Blue Tree designer manages your pool and spa as a single project.
1

Step 1: Consultation & Listening Session

Your designer walks the property, takes measurements, and asks how you plan to use the space. A spa for quiet morning soaks calls for a different size and seat layout than one built for entertaining. Budget comes up early and in plain numbers, including how an integrated spa changes the project total. There is no pressure for a same-day decision.
2

Step 2: Design & 3D Rendering

The designer draws the pool and spa as one structure in CAD, then builds a 3D rendering that shows the spillover wall, steps, decking, and planting in the context of your full property. You see how the spa sits against the patio before excavation begins. Revisions happen at this stage, not mid-construction.
3

Step 3: Proposal, Permits & Engineering

You receive an itemized proposal that names materials, equipment models, jet counts, and warranty terms, with the spa priced as part of the whole project. Blue Tree then handles township permits, impervious surface calculations, engineering review, and any variance applications in-house. Permitting timelines vary by township, and your designer keeps you posted at each step.
4

Step 4: Construction as One Shell

Crews excavate the pool and spa together, set rebar and plumbing as one system, and shoot the concrete shell as a single structure. Tile, coping, plaster, and decking follow, matched across pool and spa so the finished work reads as one design. Your designer stays involved through the build, and crews restore the site with final grading and seed before walkthrough.
5

Step 5: Startup, Walkthrough & Ongoing Care

At startup, your designer and the pool team walk you through the Jandy controls, heater settings, jet operation, and water chemistry basics for a shared pool and spa system. Blue Tree services the integrated spas it builds, so openings, closings, and ongoing maintenance stay with the team that knows your project, year after year.

Spa Options for Every Pool Project

Blue Tree designs every spa around the pool it joins and the property around both. These are the configurations Southeastern PA homeowners request most often.
A luxurious backyard pool with a connected hot tub, surrounded by stone tiles and landscaping, sits near a house at sunset with lush trees in the background.

Spillover Spas

A raised spa that spills into the pool over a tiled or stone weir wall. The sound of moving water and the visual connection make it the most requested configuration.

Raised Spas

Set above the pool deck on a stone or tile-faced bond beam. The height gives the spa presence and gives bathers a view across the yard.

Flush-Deck Spas

Built level with the pool and the surrounding deck for a clean, low-profile look that suits modern designs and open sight lines.

Therapeutic Jets & Seating

Your designer plans jet count, seat depth, and bench layout around how your family will use the spa, from hydrotherapy to a warm cooldown bench for swimmers.

Spa Heating & Automation

Jandy heaters and automation bring the spa to temperature before you step outside, with control from your phone. One system runs both pool and spa.

Spa Service & Care

Blue Tree's in-house pool service team handles openings, closings, water chemistry, and equipment maintenance for the integrated spas it builds.

Designed for Southeastern
Pennsylvania's Four-Season Climate

An integrated spa earns its keep year-round in Southeastern Pennsylvania:
  • October football nights and January soaks when the pool is closed
  • Shoulder-season evenings when the pool is still too cold to swim
  • Built in concrete (gunite or shotcrete) to survive freeze-thaw winters without cracking joints
  • Spa plumbing winterized alongside the pool when the season closes
Blue Tree handles township permitting across all seven counties in-house.

Common Questions

No. Blue Tree builds concrete and gunite spas as part of custom pool projects, and services the integrated spas it builds. Free-standing, plug-and-play hot tubs are a different product, and Blue Tree refers those to dedicated hot tub dealers. If you want a spa that shares your pool's structure, equipment, and finishes, that is what Blue Tree builds, backed by a 15-year pool construction track record.

Sometimes. It depends on the pool's structure, the deck and plumbing layout, and how much room the equipment pad has left. Adding a spa is a structural project, so Blue Tree evaluates it as part of a full pool renovation rather than a bolt-on. Request a free consultation and a designer will walk the property and give you a straight answer on whether your pool is a candidate.

Yes. Year-round use is one of the main reasons homeowners add a spa to a pool project. A gas heater brings the spa to temperature even in January, and Jandy automation lets you start it from your phone before you head outside. Your designer can plan the plumbing so the pool closes for the season while the spa keeps running through the cold months.

A spillover spa spills water into the pool over a tiled or stone weir wall, adding movement and sound. A raised spa sits above the deck on a stone or tile-faced bond beam, with or without the spillover effect. A flush-deck spa sits level with the pool for a low-profile look. Your designer renders each option in 3D so you can compare them on your own property before committing.

An integrated spa adds to the project total, and the amount depends on size, seat and jet count, finish materials, and whether the design calls for a raised wall or spillover feature. Blue Tree prices the spa as a named line in an itemized proposal, not a vague allowance, so you can weigh it against other options like extra decking or water features. The bid is the price.

Blue Tree does. The pool service team handles openings, closings, weekly service, water chemistry, and equipment maintenance for the pools and integrated spas it builds, under the Premier Outdoor Services umbrella. Jandy equipment carries a 3-year workmanship warranty, and the concrete pool shell carries a lifetime structural warranty. The crew that built your spa is the crew you call in year 10.
