A good walkway does two jobs at once: it gets you where you are going safely, and it pulls the whole landscape together. Blue Tree designs and builds paver and natural stone walkways on a proper base, so they stay flat and safe through our freeze-thaw winters. For 43 years, our ICPI-certified crews have connected outdoor spaces across Southeastern Pennsylvania.
A walkway is more than a strip of pavers. Blue Tree designs the route, width, and material to fit how people actually move through the property, then builds it on a compacted base with proper drainage and an edge that holds. Steps and grade changes are set to safe, consistent rise and run, which is what keeps a path comfortable and prevents trips. Blue Tree builds with Belgard, Techo-Bloc, and natural stone, handles permits in-house, and has built walkways across Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Berks, and Philadelphia Counties since 1983.

Most paver and stone walkways from Blue Tree run from about $4,000 for a short front walk to $25,000 or more for longer paths with steps and natural stone, as of 2026. Length, width, material, and grade changes drive the number. Every project starts with a free consultation and an itemized proposal.
Pavers and natural stone are the top choices. Pavers offer the widest range of colors and patterns and can be lifted and reset, while natural stone gives a one-of-a-kind, high-end look. Both outperform poured concrete, which cracks with freeze-thaw. Blue Tree will match the material to the house and how the path is used.
A primary front walk usually reads best at about 4 to 5 feet so two people can walk side by side, while garden and side paths can be narrower. Blue Tree sizes each path for how it is actually used and how it relates to the house, which is part of what gets settled during design.
Almost always because of the base or drainage. A path set on a thin or poorly compacted base over clay soil shifts with freeze-thaw and becomes a trip hazard. Blue Tree excavates to depth, compacts the base in lifts, and builds in drainage, which is what keeps a walkway flat and safe.
Yes. Blue Tree designs and builds masonry and stone steps set to safe, consistent rise and run, which is what makes a stairway comfortable and prevents trips. On steeper grades, steps are often combined with retaining walls, all planned and built by the same team.
