What Sets Blue Tree's Plunge Pools Apart

A plunge pool is small, but Blue Tree builds it like a full pool. The shell is poured in concrete using gunite and shotcrete, the same method behind 15 years of pool construction, so the structure carries a lifetime structural warranty.
  • One designer plans the pool, seating depth, heating, and surrounding hardscape from day one
  • Built on site, so it fits tight lots, courtyards, and sloped yards across Southeastern PA
  • Pairs cleanly with a spa or spillover when warm water is also on the list
  • No salesperson handoff, same contact from first property visit through final walkthrough

Our Plunge Pool Process

A plunge pool uses a smaller footprint than a full-size pool, but the project schedule still depends on design, approvals, access, site conditions, inspections, equipment, and weather. The assigned Blue Tree designer coordinates the design with the construction team through the approved project scope.
1

Step 1: On-Site Consultation

A Blue Tree designer visits your property, not a salesperson. They look at your yard, access, slope, soil, and how you want to use the pool, whether that is cold plunge recovery, a warm soak, or both. No cost and no pressure.
2

Step 2: Design and Layout

Your designer plans the plunge pool footprint, depth, seating, and bench options, plus heating and the surrounding hardscape and planting. You see the layout for the whole space before any digging starts, so the pool fits the yard instead of fighting it.
3

Step 3: Permitting and Site Prep

Blue Tree reviews the applicable municipal permit, electrical, access, and impervious-surface requirements for the property. The approved proposal identifies the site-preparation work Blue Tree will perform and confirms any homeowner, third-party, or municipal responsibilities before excavation.
4

Step 4: Concrete Shell and Equipment

We excavate, set steel, and apply the gunite or shotcrete shell, then run plumbing and electrical and install Jandy equipment and heating. The small water volume heats quickly, which is what makes a plunge pool usable in the shoulder seasons.
5

Step 5: Finish, Fill, and Walkthrough

Tile, coping, plaster, and the surrounding hardscape and landscape go in, then we fill the pool, balance the water, and commission the equipment. Your designer walks you through operation, care, and warranty coverage before you take the first plunge.

Designed for Southeastern Pennsylvania Yards

Building a plunge pool in Southeastern Pennsylvania requires site-specific planning for local conditions:
  • The concrete shell and winterization plan are designed for the property's conditions and the region's freeze-thaw cycles
  • Where clay-heavy soils or drainage constraints are present, water management is planned with the pool layout
  • A smaller footprint may help on properties with impervious-surface limits, but the applicable municipality determines what is allowed
Blue Tree currently serves Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Berks, and Philadelphia Counties. Property conditions and local requirements are reviewed during design so the proposal can document the approved scope and responsibilities.

Common Questions

A plunge pool is a compact inground pool designed for soaking, cooling off, relaxation, and other uses that do not require a full swimming-lap length. Blue Tree builds custom concrete plunge pools with gunite or shotcrete methods. The written warranty provides lifetime structural coverage on the concrete shell for the original homeowner, subject to stated conditions and exclusions. The smaller footprint can make a plunge pool a practical option for some tight Southeastern PA lots, courtyards, and side yards, subject to access, design, and local approvals.

Blue Tree does not use one universal price for every plunge pool. A smaller shell may use less material than a full-size custom pool, but depth, finish, seating, heating, equipment, access, soil, drainage, and municipal requirements all affect the final amount. After evaluating the property, Blue Tree provides an itemized proposal based on the approved scope.

A plunge pool can be designed for cold-water use, subject to the selected equipment, operating conditions, and desired temperature range. It can also be configured for warmer seasonal use. Energy use and operating cost depend on water volume, equipment, weather, and how the pool is used. Anyone considering cold-water exposure for a health or recovery purpose should discuss personal suitability with a qualified healthcare professional.

A plunge pool may fit a small yard, courtyard, sloped site, or property with limited equipment access, but feasibility depends on the actual lot. Blue Tree reviews access, soil, slope, drainage, utilities, setbacks, and local requirements during the consultation. Concrete construction is formed on site, which may help on some properties where delivery of a pre-formed shell is difficult.

Yes, when the design and selected equipment support it. Blue Tree can specify Jandy heating and controls for a plunge pool, with achievable water temperature, seasonal use, heating time, and operating cost depending on pool volume, weather, cover use, and equipment capacity. The project proposal identifies the equipment included in the approved design.

Yes. A custom plunge pool can be designed with a built-in spa or spillover feature when the property, budget, and approved design support it. Blue Tree coordinates the plunge pool, spa, surrounding hardscape, landscape, drainage, and equipment as one project scope so the materials and layout are planned together.
