Patios, walls, walkways, and outdoor kitchens are the bones of a backyard. Get the design right and everything else falls into place. Blue Tree designs hardscapes that fit the property, the house, and the way you live outside, then builds them to last generations. For 43 years, our ICPI-certified crews have shaped outdoor spaces across Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Most contractors price a patio by the square foot and start digging. Blue Tree designs the hardscape first, as part of the whole property. A designer studies grade, drainage, sun, and how the spaces connect, then plans patios, walls, walkways, and features so materials, levels, and water all work together. The work is built on a proper base, with ICPI-certified installation that holds flat and true through our freeze-thaw winters. Blue Tree has designed and built hardscapes across Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Berks, and Philadelphia Counties since 1983, handles permitting in-house, and partners with Belgard and Techo-Bloc for premium materials.

Hardscape cost depends on size, materials, walls, and site conditions. As a rough guide, paver patios from Blue Tree often run from about $20,000 to $60,000 or more, and full backyard hardscape projects with walls, an outdoor kitchen, and features can run $75,000 to $200,000 or more, as of 2026. Every project starts with a free consultation and an itemized proposal.
ICPI is the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute, the body that sets the standard for how segmental paving should be installed. ICPI-certified installation means the base, edge restraint, and laying are done the way that keeps pavers flat and stable for decades. Blue Tree's hardscape work is ICPI-certified, which is a big part of why it holds up through our freeze-thaw winters.
Most paver patios take 2 to 6 weeks of active construction once permits are in hand, and larger projects with walls, kitchens, and features take longer. Permitting can add 2 to 6 weeks up front depending on the township. Weather and site conditions affect the schedule, and your designer manages the timeline and keeps you updated at every stage.
Often, yes. Many townships across our service area require permits for patios, retaining walls over a certain height, and other hardscape, and most enforce impervious-surface limits that cap how much hard surface a property can add. Blue Tree handles permitting and impervious-surface calculations in-house, so the project starts with every approval in place.
Blue Tree builds with premium segmental products from Belgard and Techo-Bloc, along with natural stone, chosen to fit the design and the house. Material selection happens during design, so you see and approve the exact pavers, stone, and colors before anything is ordered, and the manufacturer warranties carry through to you.
